May 31 – 6pm to 8pm – One Brewer’s Green – Westminster

Women are bearing the brunt of austerity all across Europe and particularly in the UK. Women suffer more in economic terms and are also confronted with a regression of public attitudes towards women’s role in society. At this event we are looking to explore what progressive parties and unions can do to reverse this.

Keynote by Zita Gurmai MEP – President of PES Women.

With responses by Kay Carberry, TUC Assistant General Secretary and Dr Monica Threlfall, Reader in European Politics, Social Sciences Faculty Advanced Institute for Research (FAIR), London Metropolitan University

Followed by an open discussion and a drinks and nibbles reception

This event is jointly organised by the Labour Movement for Europe and the Fabian’s Women’s Network

Please RSVP to info@labourmovement.eu as we will need to provide a definitive list of attendees to the venue.
