Alan Johnson MP who will be leading Labour’s Yes campaign in the EU referendum will speak at a Labour Movement for Europe event at the party’s conference in Brighton. He will say:

“Labour will be campaigning to stay in the European Union – because our values of equality, opportunity and solidarity do not end at Dover.

We’ll make the case that EU membership helps Britain create jobs and growth, encourages investment and helps us tackle global issues like climate change, terrorism, tax havens and the current refugee crisis.

With a referendum due to take place before the end of 2017, the debate about what EU membership means for the UK has never been more important.”
