The Labour Movement for Europe AGM and Conference is taking place on February 25th at the ITF House in London.
Elections for the National Executive and the National Chair will be held ahead of and announced at the AGM. The elections will be online, by mail for those of you for whom we do not have a email address, and be administered by the Electoral Reform Society.
All paid up members are eligible to stand and vote in the elections.
If you are not yet a member, now is the time to join us! Joining the LME at this time will give us the support we need to continue campaigning. It will also allow you to vote in the forthcoming elections and should you want to to stand for election for the National Executive and the National Chair. Joining the LME before January 17th will give you the opportunity to vote in the elections.
Nominations are now open and members who wish to stand for the post of Chair or as a member of the National Executive must submit their nominations by 12pm on Tuesday, January 17th.
The election is scheduled to start on Friday, January 27th and be completed by Friday, February 17th, with candidates being informed of the results around Monday February 20th. Results will be officially announced at the AGM on Saturday, February 25th.
There are separate elections for the National Chair and for the Executive, and you can stand for both. The Executive has 2 positions for under-30s (at least one must be a woman) and 5 other positions (at least two must be women). So please confirm on your nomination if you qualify for the under-30 positions.
To nominate yourself, please send a statement of 200 words maximum for inclusion in the voting pack, and your contact details (name, address, phone and email details) to both our Returning Officer Martin Phillips at firstname.lastname@example.org and our Secretary Seb Vogt at email@example.com. Your statement should be sent as a Word document (.doc or .docx) or a .txt file. Please do not send your statement as an embedded text in your email as this cannot always we extracted.
